Kwun Tong Shadow Tour Guide Program 觀塘區影子導賞員計劃

Kaifong Tour is a social enterprise that promotes community connection and engagement. They organized a Kwun Tong Local Tour Guide Program to train local residents to become tour guides and introduce their community to others.

HKUST students acted as “Shadow Tour Guides” in the Program. They were trained to design and assist the local residents to organize the tours. Students were able to reflect on how urban renewal projects are affecting local communities, which helped them gain a better understanding of the communities they themselves belong to and are thus more willing to contribute to them.
