Project WeCan is an initiative for students who are disadvantaged in learning. It acts as an open platform where schools can receive financial and volunteer support from partners during this one-year project.

In April 2018, HKUST volunteers conducted a STEM workshop and a campus tour for the students from Hong Kong Taoist Association, The Yuen Yuen Institute No.3 Secondary School. It was hoped that these students would increase their self-esteem and pursue a higher education following their visit to HKUST.

Student Sharing

今日的活動給我一個很深刻的印象。因為自己是讀科學,但今次仍於教中一、二班砌模型車的時候學習到很多東西!很開心跟他們聊天。

SSCI, Year 3

Today we welcomed students from yr3 secondary school, did a STEM WS and showed them around campus. Their creativity and energy impressed me and I believe my voluntary work paid off.
