Volunteers cleaning up the beach

Hong Kong shorelines are not only home to hundreds of wildlife species, but they are also venues for various recreational activities like swimming, wind-surfing, sand sculpture competitions, etc. In this service, volunteers collected rubbish at Lung Ha Wan Beach to help preserve our beautiful shorelines.

Student Sharing

This activity was a fun way to bring students together in making Hong Kong a more beautiful city. It was eye-opening to see how much litter remained unmanaged in Hong Kong, even in places that should be considered relatively clean.

It’s my first time to join a beach cleanup activity. The littering problem is quite serious in Hong Kong. More help is needed and it’s the responsibility of a Hong Kong resident to ensure the hygiene of our environment. Hope that much awareness can be raised!
