Volunteers work hard to clean the rubbish at the beach

Hong Kong shorelines are not only home to hundreds of wildlife species, but also venues for various recreational activities like swimming, wind-surfing, sand sculpture competitions, etc. In this service, volunteers collected rubbish at Lung Ha Wan Beach to help preserve our beautiful shorelines.

Student Sharing

This activity is a fun way to bring students together in making Hong Kong a more beautiful city. I was shocked to see how much litter remained unmanaged in Hong Kong, even in places that should be considered relatively clean.

It’s my first time to join a beach cleanup activity. The littering problem is quite serious in Hong Kong. More help is needed and it’s the responsibility of a Hong Kong resident to ensure the hygiene of our environment. Hope that much awareness can be raised!
