A team of Connect ACE (Ambassador for Community Engagement) 2017/18 cooperated with "The Hong Kong Society for the Blind Family Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired" to organize this service project which aimed to facilitate social integration and help Visually Impaired People (VIP) develop their interest and a sense of accomplishment. HKUST Volunteers accompanied the VIPs during outdoor visits and interactive workshops, and assisted them to complete various tasks.

Student Sharing

Perhaps all of us have underestimated the ability of the visually-impaired. They can do a lot more than what we assumed! Although they are living in a world of darkness / blurriness, the difficulties they faced do not deter them from exploring the unknowns. They are also willing to learn and try out things that they are not familiar with. Their spirits impressed me a lot in this service.
