Together We Fly High - Lantau Island Service Camp (Jan 2018) 童伴成長 - 南大嶼山服務營
In winter 2018, 12 students with 2 staff went to Tung Wan Mok Law Shui Wah School again after the first visit in 2017. With the aim of introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to the primary students and helping them have a good preparation to move to a new neighborhood, student volunteers designed different STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workshops and organized a service day in Tuen Mun.
In these four days, students experienced interesting STEM workshops and some team building activities. Participating all these workshops and activities, the students not only gained some knowledge beyond the textbooks, but also developed their team spirit. With the collaboration of the School and some NGO partners in Tuen Mun, student volunteers successfully organized several local service to serve elderly, children and youth with intellectual challenged. They also had a city tour in Tuen Mun community. After spending a day in Tuen Mun, students had a better understanding on this new neighborhood and were happier and more confident to move into this new school environment.
Throughout the 4-day service camp, volunteers showed their love and support to these students. They all had a memorable time and hope to join the Camp and visit the lovely students again in the future.
