ICAC Ambassador Programme 2017/18

Partnering with ICAC, HKUST launched the ICAC Ambassador Programme which aims to spread the positive values of ICAC and integrity-related messages to HKUST community. 9 students from different schools were selected as ambassadors to initiate their own promotional activities and design a handicraft workshop for spreading integrity-related messages to their fellow students.
The team participated in a training camp with ambassadors from other tertiary institutions to learn about leadership and teamwork in November 2017. Afterwards, they initiated their own activities for disseminating integrity-related messages and executed the activities in April 2018. Through the series of activities, they successfully reached more than 900 university students during their promotion week. Furthermore, the ICAC hosted the first-ever youth fest to galvanize the youngsters to spread positive values and showcase their visions of a clean society in June 2018. The team managed a handicraft booth to highlight the probity message.
Student Sharing
I am passionate in organizing educational campaigns and designing publicity products. The ICAC Ambassador programme fulfilled my personal interests at the same time spreading meaningful messages to our peers. I learnt something new and gained insights in each of the encounters with other parties. It was not easy to execute all component events and have management in publicity under such limited manpower and time course, but we did try our best to complete all the tasks based on the resources we had. I am glad that we keep our passions and calm in most of the time we work with each other even when we have conflicts. These unforgettable experiences shared by nine of us would be imprinted on my heart. In short, I have deepen my promotion skills, people skills, the values of integrity and met great people from this programme.

SSCI, Year 3
Joining the ICAC Ambassador Program is a fruitful experience to me as it provides me opportunity to meet different people who share the same goal and belief with me. Although other ICAC Ambassadors and I had encountered a wide variety of obstacles, we managed to overcome them through teamwork and had successfully launched a series of events that aim to spread the positive values of ICAC and the integrity-related messages to different target audiences. I have learnt more about ICAC and the core value of society – integrity. With the dogged persistence and remitted effect by the government, ICAC and citizens, I hope that Hong Kong can be one of the economies with the lowest levels of corruption around the globe for now and forever.
