In order to alleviate the food waste problem which contributes 36% of the total municipal solid waste in Hong Kong, the local green group Ever Green Association has continued their efforts since 2013 in various projects, including "Food Rescue" (食物拯救隊). They now take a further step in making good use of the collected food by turning it into traditional Chinese soup. Students helped clean the soup bottles and distribute the soup to the elders in Hung Hom district, while showing care to the vulnerable and needy.
