Start the Journey with 'U' 科大「中」「同」遊
Project WeCan is an initiative to support secondary students who are disadvantaged in learning. With different collaborators, HKUST Connect recruited volunteers and organised a campus tour for a group of students from Hong Kong Taoist Association The Yuen Institute No.3 Secondary School. Volunteers led the students on a tour around the Campus and shared some learning tips with them which greatly raised their self-esteem and empowered them to pursue higher education.

Taking Secondary students around the campus reminded me of the old days. Hope this brief tour will inspire them to pursue their dreams bravely. Feel happy to be helpful. Hoping more people can engage in service learning activities.

A student from Pakistan told me he wanted to study technology in the future because of the poor electricity conditions in Pakistan. This made me think again why I studied in UST, why I chose to study social science. I learned something from this experience and hope I have brought hope to them. I wish them all the best and may they finally find something they like and want to devote themselves to.
