Taking a group photo after visiting the homeless

To address the poverty issue in Hong Kong, some community-initiated projects were launched to provide food to people in need. HKUST volunteers worked with a restaurant owner to distribute meal boxes to homeless people, the elderly and the underprivileged in Sham Shui Po. Through the service, our students visited elderly singletons in Sham Shui Po to learn more about their lives and had a chance to hear inspiring stories about the owner.

Description

I was touched by the elderly. They are happy just because of a lunch box. One of the elderly shared her life and voluntary experience with us. I was surprised that she is not only a service recipient but also a volunteer. She is willing to share her life with others. Every little makes a difference! So, please reach out together.

今次有義工帶咗我地入邨派飯俾獨居長者。雖然一個飯盒看微不足道,但我感受到嘅係依啲長者不單係需要依個飯盒,而係隨派飯送上嘅一點關心。
