Volunteers talking to the homeless people to show them care and love

A team of Connect ACE organized this 3-session service project intended to provide basic necessities and spread love and care to street sleepers.

In the second session, the team of Connect ACE and volunteers visited street sleepers in Tung Chau Street Public Park. They distributed some basic necessities such as tissues and body wash and chatted with them to understand more about their situation and needs. The volunteers also had a chance to play chess with street sleepers and had fun together. Throughout the service, the volunteers learnt more about the challenges faced by homeless people in Hong Kong while spreading love and care to them.

I believe it was a rewarding experience to organize this service project. I was really shocked by the terrible living environment and the situation of the street sleepers. Some of them are devoid of hope and feel despair about their future. I believe it is important to express our love and care not only by distributing necessities but also by showing emotional support to them as they are the ones who are neglected by the general public. I wish to see them improving in the future! : )
