A team of Connect ACE members collaborated with the Hong Kong Federation of Handicapped Youth Centre to organize this 2-session service project with a 2-day on-campus exhibition in order to facilitate cross-generational communication and understanding. Current popular social media topics were shared by HKUSTers with the physically challenged adults. The exhibition aimed at raising public awareness of their needs and educating university students to challenge stereotypes around disability.

In this program, volunteers held a Cooking Carnival at the centre where different game booths were set up for the recipients to interact with volunteers to learn about the current hot topics among HKUSTers. They made ‘emoji chocolates’ and ‘cake pops’ together at the end of the session. During the second session, the recipients visited HKUST to tour around the campus and played different games using technologies that are common among the HKUSTers like QR codes and the VR cameras. To conclude the project, volunteers held an exhibition on campus to share their reflections and experiences of the past service sessions with the physically challenged adults. Through the exhibition, volunteers hoped to give their fellow HKUSTers a new perspective on the service recipients..
