Co-organized by Hong Kong Special Olympics (HKSO) and the Hong Kong Sports Association for the Mentally Handicapped, the 41st HKSO Regional Athletic Meet (第四十一屆香港特殊奧運會分區田徑賽) was held in January 2017. This event aims to enhance both the physical and mental development of the intellectually challenged, and to connect them to the wider community. HKUST students served in different roles such as escorting participants and guests, and providing administrative support in track and field events.
