During the HKUST SL Day Bread Run, volunteers helped pick up surplus bread from bakeries which were then delivered to Feeding Hong Kong. The whole Hong Kong wide Bread Run collected 1200 pieces of bread from more than 50 stores in Hong Kong. The collected bread was redistributed by partnering NGOs to individuals and families in need.

Description

It was a meaningful day as I collected more than 20 pieces of bread form the Maxim Cake Store at Tseung Kwan O MTR Station. If I had not collected the bread, they would have all gone to the landfill. This would be such a waste of resources. Luckily today, will all volunteers’ effort, less food is wasted. Although this may not be helping much, it is an appreciative act. Hopefully the scale of this act can be enlarged and sustained saving the environment and helping more people in need.
