O'Camp Surplus Material Recycling Activity 2015

Orientation camps are held in HKUST every year to welcome new students. A lot of wastage was observed in O'camps in the past. HKUSTSU, HKUST Sustainability Unit and HKUST Connect joined hand to organize recycling activities last summer to collect the surplus materials from O'camps and donated to people in need. Volunteers collected and sorted the surplus materials at student halls. Through recycling and redistributing the surplus materials, we can reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. At the same time, we can promote the message of sustainability and importance of recycling to new incoming students in the O'camps.
