Jiangxi Service Learning Trip (Jun 2015) 手牽「守童」行 — 江西服務學習之旅

A team of 20 HKUST students and 2 HKUST Connect Staff returned to Jiangxi for a service trip in June. The volunteers visited two primary schools in Jiangxi, Huangtian and Longjiang, and conducted interactive lessons on Science and English subjects for the children. They also led arts and sports activities, and distributed donated goods such as stationary supplies and daily essentials which had been collected earlier by the Jiangxi post-trip team through their “Take a Step Further” awareness campaign.  During their visit, the volunteers also visited a social enterprise called “eco-Cultivation Organic Agriculture Development (Ruijin) Co. Ltd.” to learn about how organic farming creates a positive impact in this local Jiangxi community. This service trip provided both the student volunteers and the children an opportunity to learn and grow, and they shared many unforgettable memories which will surely be cherished in the times to come.
