Volunteer chatting with elderly

Initiated by PSL (Public Service Leader), the project aimed at identifying the symptoms of Dementia and providing emotional and physical support to the elderly through thematic games and activities. HKUST volunteers played a music game and invited the elderly to share their happy moment and hard time. By the end of the visit, the volunteers introduced the elderly an exercise to strengthen their eye-hand coordination.

Student Sharing

Many people may not be willing to communicate with the elderly as they do not react as fast as we do or they are not as active as us. Yet, as long as you are willing to talk to them and be patient, you can definitely learn a great lesson from them.
