Jiangxi Service Learning Trip (Jan 2015) 手牽「守童」行 — 江西服務學習之旅

19 HKUST students and 2 Connect Staff went back to Jiangxi again this time. The volunteers conducted their service at two separate primary schools in Jiangxi: Huangtian and Longjiang. In parallel with the previous trip, student volunteers organized and conducted interactive lessons on knowledge about computer, science and English for the children. In addition, activities related to music and nutrition were introduced and carried out as well. Some handmade scarves were given to the Jiangxi children so that they can still feel warmth despite the cold winter.

Furthermore, student volunteers also visited a social enterprise called “eco-Cultivation Organic Agriculture Development (Ruijin) Co. Ltd.” to understand how organic farming operations positively impacted the local Jiangxi community. Both the student volunteers and the children shared many unforgettable memories together, which will surely be cherished in the times to come.
