The Buddy Reading Program was designed for young children in order to motivate them to read in English and to develop an interest for reading. The reading sessions were divided into two parts, including group reading (with each volunteer taking turns reading to the class) and individual reading (1 volunteer to 1-3 children). The children were able to improve their reading and listening skills as well as their understanding of English by reading English stories in colorful picture books.
