Yan Oi Tong was registered as a non-profit charitable organization in 1977 with the mission of “Caring for the Old and the Young, Promoting Education and Nurturing Talents, Supporting the Disadvantaged and the Sick, and Serving the Community”. Yan Oi Tong provides services including social welfare, education, medical services, recreation, environmental protection and social enterprises. On 20th September 2014, 9 HKUST volunteers assisted in their annual flag-selling fund-raising event to raise money to support the operation in Yan Oi Tong.
