Established in 1996, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) aims at enhancing the living quality of the elderly in the community, and spreading the peace of mind to every corner of the society. SCHSA provides free Personal Emergency Link Service (平安鐘), Mobile Link Service (隨身寶) and Caring Call Service (耆安鈴長者熱線) to the needy citizens. In the Caring Call Service, volunteers chat regularly with the elderly and get updates of their health and home safety conditions. If necessary, appropriate referrals to other social services would be provided to the elderly.

HKUST students supported the "Caring Call Service" so that more elderly could be benefited from the service. The volunteers could not only understand more about the living of the elderly in our society through the service, they also found something impressing and touching from their sharing in the calls.
