The program, English Alliance 2012/13 – “Create Our Own Reading Records!”, aims to promote reading among teenagers and thereby raise their language proficiency. Our students took up the role of volunteer student facilitators and helped to look after the participants from primary and secondary schools while encouraging them to participate actively in the event. They also provided various logistic support such as crowd control. Together, a total of 15,000 participants joined this mega reading event and successfully created Hong Kong's own reading records of "Most People Telling a Story Together" and "Most People Reading Aloud Together".
