Light on Dreams - Sichuan Service Learning Trip (Summer 2011)

“Light on Dreams”, which was a student-initiated project, aspired to be the sparkling light that illuminate children’s dreams.

Before the trip, participants attended several workshops to prepare the teaching contents and learn the classroom management skills. During the 7-day trip, participants provided an interactive activities to the local children of Yi people (彝族) living in Mabian, Sichuan Province. Besides, our students visited the local families and experienced the daily lives of Yi people. After seven days, they not only built a close relationship with the kids in Shaqiang Central Primary School, but also gained a deeper insight into voluntary teaching activities and discovered themselves.
