ICAC Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon 2025

The Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon 2025 (The Hackathon) is jointly organized by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA). This event engages youth and promotes the use of technologies in fostering a culture of innovation in the fight against corruption.

Hackathon Challenges

Description

Develop a prototype of ICT-based idea/solution to corruption-related problems in the Asian region, which might include (but not limited to) the following challenges -

  • Strengthening the integrity of public procurement processes
  • Safeguarding sports from corruption
  • Strengthening the finance and insurance sector's resilience to corruption
  • Enhancing the integrity in infrastructure projects

Team Composition

Description

A team of 3 members consisting of mixed gender to promote equality. If your team is fewer than 3 persons, you and/or your team member may be paired up with other applicant(s) based on the preferred challenge, skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Description
  1. Hong Kong resident (Exchange student is not eligible)
  2. Between 18 and 35 years old
  3. Fluent in written and spoken English
  4. Able to attend all online events (Jun 2025) and in-person events (Sep 2025)

  2. Shortlisted applicants are required to submit a summary of your team's preliminary proposal by 9 Jun 2025 (Mon).
