Centre for Harmony and Enhancement of Ethnic Minority Residents (CHEER) is one of the support service centres funded by the Home Affairs Department of HKSAR Government to provide accessible services to ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. It aims at facilitating ethnic minorities to have a cheerful and harmonious life in the society.
To enhance ethnic minorities residents' language ability, Mentor@Home scheme has been adopted and provided one-to-one language training to ethnic minorties (EM) residents. The mentees are non-Chinese residents who are unable to attend Chinese/English courses conducted in classroom settings in the community. They might be persons with physical disability, housewives fully-occupied by household duties or senior residents with low mobility, etc.
We are now recruiting mentors for providing online language training for the ethnic minorities residents to strengthen their language ability and hence enhance their capacity in problem-solving and adjustment in Hong Kong. .
