[This is a talk in Changemaker Gear Up Training Series (GUTS)*]

Siu-fung (they/them) is neither male nor female. Biologically female, Siu-fung appears socially male with strong muscles and a deep voice. They are a professional bodybuilder who compete in the women’s category. Embracing masculinity and femininity simultaneously, Siu-fung identifies as genderfluid and nonbinary.

As a trans and nonbinary athlete, Siu-fung is currently an Ambassador and Sports Lead of Gay Games Hong Kong 2023, a worldwide sports and cultural event that promotes sexual and gender inclusion; and an Ambassador of Athlete Ally, an international organization to end homophobia and transphobia in sports.

How does living outside the gender binary look like? Why is there so much controversy over trans athletes in sports? Join us to hear the story of Siu-fung and get inspired!

Siufung Law

Genderfluid advocate and Professional bodybuilder

Siu-fung Law (They/them) is a genderfluid advocate and professional bodybuilder from Hong Kong. They are currently a Ph.D. student in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Emory University. They actively promote gender inclusion and diversity in Hong Kong and Asia, including public lectures on gender and transgender studies in universities, community colleges and high schools. They are currently an Ambassador of Athlete Ally, an international organization to stop homophobia and transphobia in sports, and Sports Lead of Gay Games Hong Kong 2022. They were also the finalist of 2018 Hong Kong LGBT+ Inclusion Awards. They are a professional female bodybuilder who have been competing since 2015, and have won several international champions all over the world.

Remarks:

  2. To avoid interruption and hindering the progress of session, instructors may not admit new participants who are late for more than 15 minutes.
  3. Participants who are away from the session for 15 minutes or more may not be able to attain the HLTH1010 course hours

HLTH1010 Course Hours:

Upon complete attendance of the workshop, participants may attain a maximum of 1 hours in "Wellness & Personal Enrichment Events" in the "Activities" module.
