In Step with Dogs 同步手牽狗
In this service, volunteers will visit Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR)'s Homing Centre in Tai Po to understand the organization's work and challenges ahead. Volunteers will have the chance to show care and love to rescued dogs by visiting their kennels and taking a walk with them. Volunteers will also assist HKDR staff in centre rennovation chores due to facilities damage caused by Super Typhoon Mangkhut last year.
每年香港被遺棄及人道毁滅的狗多達10,000隻，當中有少部份狗隻有幸得到救狗之家的拯救，獲安置到轄下領養中心等待合適家庭。參與這次服務的義工將會到大埔領養中心幫忙整理及清潔因為颱風山竹而受到破壞的設施，接觸待領養狗隻，帶領牠們散步，提供運動、社交與受訓的機會，藉此了解機構的工作及所面對的挑戰。
Requirements
- Volunteers must be aged 18 or above.
- Volunteers must not have allergies to animal fur and are not afraid of large sized dogs.
HLTH1010
Upon completion of the service, HLTH1010 course participants will attain maximum of 2 hours in "Community or Voluntary Work" in the "Activities" module, subject to the actual direct service hours confirmed by the partner organization.
Remark
Volunteers are encouraged by HKDR to make a personal donation of HKD 100 to support their community work.
