Stitch Together Program
Join us for the second year of "Stitch Together", launched in collaboration with our impact partner, INNOTIER! Last year, students repurposed unused antimicrobial Ionic+™ fabrics to create oversleeves for street cleaners and armchair organizers for wheelchair users. This year, our mission remains to foster sustainability while crafting useful items for selected target groups in need.
What you will gain:
Hands-on skills: Learn machine sewing, paper pattern making and prototyping
Meaningful design: Create impactful products for underprivileged communities in Hong Kong using a design thinking approach
Sustainability focus: Upcycle and repurpose unused fabrics alongside like-minded peers
Enrich your CV: Build a product from concept to reality to showcase your creativity and abilities
A representative from INNOTIER will provide essential insights into antimicrobial fabrics. We will also offer training in design thinking and sewing techniques to help you transform your ideas into tangible prototypes ready for production.
If you’re passionate about sustainable development and making a difference, join Stitch Together today!
As a Team Member, you will:
- Design and creatively upcycle unused antimicrobial fabrics
- Research and understand the needs of target recipients
- Produce high-quality, useful products with care
- Distribute the final products to those in need
*The Ionic+™ fibres woven onto the fabrics release silver ions (Ag+) and will act in several ways to inhibit and eliminate viruses and bacteria on the surface, protecting the fabrics from microbial impact.
