Co-organized by the Hong Kong Special Olympics (HKSO) and the Hong Kong Sports Association for the Mentally Handicapped, the 38th HKSO Track and Field Events (第三十八屆香港特殊奧運會分區田徑賽) was held during January and February 2014. The events aimed to enhance the physical and mental development of the intellectually disabled and to connect them to the wider community. HKUST students served in different roles such as escorting participants and guests and providing administrative support.
