Famine 30

815 million people in this world are starving, including 489 million living in areas affected by conflict. Behind the issue of hunger lie various forms of violence, including armed conflicts, poverty, and climate change which prevent families from providing sufficient food for their children and put their lives at risk. “30-Hour Famine” raises funds for refugees and alleviates food insecurity. Volunteers facilitated the event and provided logistics support.
Post 1B & 2B: To support and facilitate the experiential workshops
Post 3: To assist in crowd control, patrolling, and ad hoc duties.

It was my first time participating in Famine 30 as a volunteer. It was a fun and fruitful experience. I got to talk to organizers at the venue and was inspired by their passion towards serving. Also, participants took part in the activities actively despite the hot weather. Their spirits and their willingness to sacrifice is truly admirable.

After joining this event as a helper, I learnt more about how it feels as a refugee and what they do in a refugee camp. I think this is a valuable experience as it raised my awareness towards the refugee problem and realized that we should treasure what enjoy now.   I also got to know more about World Vision and their duties.
