Jumping out of comfort zone - high rope course activity

[This is a training event in Changemaker Gear Up Training Series (GUTS)*]

How long have you stayed in your comfort zone? Do you feel stuck but struggle to get out of it? Stepping out of comfort zone is always easier said than done. As a changemaker, leaving your comfort zone allows you to empathize deeply, think out of the box and take initiatives in turning ideas into actions for the good of all. To grow, you need to take risks and embrace unknowns. Through adventure-based challenge activities, you will explore your fears and extend your comfort zone.

Remarks:

  1. Priority will be given to HKUST Connect registrants (Start your changemaking journey with HKUST Connect: https://connect.hkust.edu.hk/get-involved/register-with-hkust-connect/register)

  2. The training event involves physical exercise and adventurous training, participants suffering from any illness that renders them unfit for the activities should not apply for the event.

  3. [Transportation arrangement] Transportation will be provided for participants to and from the HKFYG Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp. The shuttle bus will leave from HKUST.

  4. [Penalty for withdrawal after 26 Jan and/or absence] The event is fully subsidized by HKUST Connect. If you are unable to participate in the event as schedule, you should send us a written notification to connect@ust.hk as soon as possible, but no later than 26 Jan 2023 (Thu). Students who withdrawn after the deadline or absent from the event will be charged a HKD500 program fee.

  5.  [CORE1905] This is a recognized event in the "Self-directed Experience" component of CORE1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. You need to attend the event in full to get 4 hours.
