Speak Up Teens 鄰舍有愛 - 青年網上義教

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, candidates of 2020 DSE did not have the chance to join tutorial classes during the pre-exam period. A group of passionate students from HKUST was recruited to provide online speaking classes. Tutors conducted several mock sessions and gave feedback to candidates. On top of that, three online written exam classes on Chinese, English, and Liberal Studies were held. By analyzing past papers, candidates developed clearer concepts and better understanding of exam strategies.
Students' Sharing
Speak Up Teens had provided me a precious opportunity to serve the community by assisting secondary school students who were going to experience the HKDSE journey. During this unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19, we had to use Zoom as the platform for coaching and mentoring the students. I would say it was quite challenging experience, not only our plan was forced to change due to the cancellation of oral exam by HKEAA, but also it was the first time for me to instruct sharing sessions using online conference apps. Luckily, with the assistance from HKUST Connect staff as well as numerous student volunteers, we were able to conduct activities in a smooth manner without significant obstacles.

I was glad to meet the DSE students and this reminds me my past passion in learning and endeavour at that moment. It was a great experience to lend a helping hand to the DSE students who are going through tough times in 2020.
