Volunteers and women playing the warm-up activity

Through handicraft workshops organized by HKUST volunteers, new arrival and low-income women were encouraged to develop positive habits and new skills. Additionally, they had the opportunity to meet friends with similar backgrounds, engage in the broader community, and establish a support network among themselves.

This was a really happy experience to be able to work and play with some women from Shamshuipo. They are all nice and cheerful, and I am surprised to learn that they also take part in a lot of voluntary services. I learn that the society can be a much better place if everyone can make a change.
