Volunteers Plus Kids V+ 兒童
Mrs Choi Ma Oi Kuen Public Service Leadership Program Award (PSL) is a yearlong development program aims at developing students' leadership skills and sense of social commitment through trainings and leading of social service projects of their own.
One of the Public Service Leaders (PSLs) partnered with the Hong Kong Playground Association to serve the children from low-income families in Wong Tai Sin area, with the aim of boosting their self-confidence. A series of activities were designed to help train the children to serve as volunteers in subsequent activities. After the training, our volunteers served in an elderly center and helped collect food waste together with the children. Throughout the whole V+ program, our volunteers served as companions to the children and as role models to coach them for future challenges.
Student Sharing
In this service, I found out that kids are really curious about the world. For instance, they stepped in every shop and explored what is inside. I realized that happiness can be extremely simple if we are curious and have a positive view towards the world. I have learnt how to communicate well with children through the three services. Yet, I still need to know how to guide the kids better when they are doing something wrong.

這次V+兒童有雙重助人的意義。在我們幫助小朋友的同時，亦都教小朋友幫助其他人。而最令我難忘的是從一開始和小朋友不熟悉去到經過一次又一次的活動，點點滴滴的相處，感情的累積，彼此變得熟悉。期望以後能多參與同類型的活動，把助人精神傳承下去。
