Talk topic -Start saving quit wasting – turn surplus food into hot meals

[This is a talk in Changemaker Gear Up Training Series (GUTS)]

When we walk on the street, we often see numerous advertisements promoting buffet or "all-you-can-eat'. Yet, have you ever wondered how the leftover food will be handled? In fact, the overproduction in hotels and restaurants has created heavy burden on the landfills. At the same time, over 1.6 million people in Hong Kong live below the poverty line with nearly two-thirds of poor households are in the state of ‘food insecurity’.

How can we build sustainability while dealing with the surplus food? Ms Aurea Yung, Head of Operations of Foodlink Foundation would share her experience in turning surplus food from the Food and Beverage Outlet into warm meals for the needy. Join us and let’s make not only environment change, but also social impact by spreading love, warmth (and meals)!
