Make Tiles for Mosaic Mural
Can you imagine that discarded plastics can be turned into artwork? Let’s participate in Precious Plastic to Art Project, the HKUST's 30th anniversary student-led project by giving a new life to used plastic. We need your energy to convert bottle caps into shreds and strength to inject mosaic tiles! Join us as a volunteer to burn some calories in our lab sessions this summer!
Date: 16, 21, 23, 28 & 30 Jun; 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 Jul; 2 & 9 Aug (Tue & Thu)
Time: 10am-1pm or 3-6pm
Location: HKUST campus
*You can attend any sessions you are available.
Mission of this project: Collect unwanted plastic as raw art materials and co-create a mosaic wall on campus.
We need your support in the following areas:
(1) Wash and clean bottle caps collected from campus;
(2) Sort lids by colour and shred them into pieces;
(3) Mould the shredded caps into hexagons; and/or
(4) Polish mosaic tiles for mosaic artwork design
